For that, a 5 gallon bucket usually works well. Just set the tank on the plastic bucket, with the petcock inside the bucket in case it leaks. I have a 2006 pre-gen (not sure what your year is). To take the tank off you absolutely do NOT have to drain the tank. Just put the petcock in the off position.

On the other hand I personally know of a few 250 riders that are around 5’9”-6’3” and they have never had any problems with this bike. (Usually these are the tall skinny type of guys so if you are more than 250 lbs I would probably recommend going for the Suzuki GS500 or the Kawasaki Ninja 500 , which have a little more horsepower).

Step 13 Disconnect Electrical Sensor. Disconnect the electrical sensor connector located on the top frame of the right side of the four wheeler. Be gentle so you do not break the plastic connector. The initial setting for a first generation carb air/fuel screw is 2 1/4 turns out from lightly seated. Do not turn the screw past lightly seated as it could be damaged. If you are using the choke on start up, that will have more impact than the air/fuel screw. If it's cold and you aren't using the choke, you probably should.
